Quarantine rolled out and here we are pajamas on and with a bad mindset. I’m a busy bee in the sense that I always like to have some project or idea going on and I like to work on my own projects and chores. Being homebound can makes us feel less useful and makes us feel less productive in some area of our life, if we are working from home for the first time we might feel that we are not working so well as we did before, or that we are fulfilling our home chores so well.
I, personally, need to work on this I’m very focused on being productive and many times I’m harsh with myself and end up being very demanding. To aid with these feelings check bellow some ideas to feel more productive in the days ahead.
Increase Productivity: End that book you have been putting off
Starting a book that we like and dwelling on it for a long time is a cause of frustration for me, because of that, I recommend that if you get joy from ending a great book go ahead and finish that sucker that is on your nightstand or e-reader waiting for you. After I recommend that you celebrate registering one more book at Good Reads. This network is a favorite of mine, it helps me keep my readings organized! Currently, I’m reading Atomic Habits by James Clear.
Be more productive by Creating new healthy habits
I think that having the time to so we should improve ourselves it can be a small thing like adding a water cup to our daily intake of liquids or like me that decided that I needed a moisturizing routine for my face (I’ve dislike putting things on my face for years but I’m starting to see the next decade coming, the big 30). For me quarantine was the last motivator, I thought the time was always a problem and now I’ve the extra time I would spend driving. That will be it and ordered some creams and potions (just a pun people) and started my new routine.
Think about your life and about what habit have you being putting off.
Productivity and Reflection: Organize photographs
I think when you are in the right mood this is perfect. You can remember old times and get your photographs organized. I think with so many people and cameras and sometimes devices we tend to have messy folders with photos and memories laying a bit everywhere. I recommend that you do this chore during quarantine for multiple reasons is a time-consuming task that will help us in the long run and also I believe that this is truly a time for us to think about life. Think about old memories and events that made you happy, that contributed to your life, sometimes it can as simple as a dinner with friends. If it made you happy, or made your friend happy write it down and make it a goal to provide and create more moments like that!
Improve Productivity with a chore list of upgrades for the home
I recommend this a lot! First if you are together with someone you can share your thoughts long run about your goals for the house and some major projects you would like to tackle. Also if you can knock 2 to 3 projects every month this will make you feel proud and aid you accomplish a lot! For an upgrades list at home I’m talking not only about upgrades but also about small chores. Like cleaning the ceilings or light fixtures, tasks that are not in our everyday list but need to get done.
Making this list is also great because you can go to your local hardware or cleaning supplies store once and get materials and things for several projects at once!
We have a running list that aids us in prioritizing our money and our time! And we do feel happy when we get to cross something out 🙂
Productivity: Reflect on your ideal life
I think that this time can be a reflection time and like in our task before I believe that stopping to think about our life, habits, and ideas is great. We can’t be truly productive or feel truly productive if we are focusing on chores and tasks and details that don’t align with our self-image or that are building the future that we want. Reflecting on our lives and habits can be just what the doctor ordered.
For me for instant starting to have a skincare routine is related to my belief that people without makeup can be beautiful, but If I didn’t apply even a simple moisturizer on my face how could my skin be able to showcase true beauty? My daily habits didn’t align with my Beliefs.
